Joy of Cooking - Understanding the Joy of Cooking

Should chefs or any related profession be the only one to appreciate the joy of cooking? This hardly seems the case because from the earliest periods man has since discovered the joy of cooking. The history of cooking is very rich and colorful. This activity has evolved several times and in this article, you will know how.

Before fire was discovered by man, human beings used to eat their food raw and fresh from a catch. Over time, they have learned which food can be eaten raw without any undesired effects to the body. Aside from seafood, they have learned that fruits, vegetables and insects can be eaten raw.

The joy of cooking has been discovered by man a long time ago. The concept of cooking started even before fire and pottery was discovered and invented. Man has a need to survive. In order to survive, one has to eat. It is this physiological need that made man discover the importance of eating.

There are two types of cooking. They are cuisine bourgeois, or home cooking, and haute cuisine. Haute cuisine is the form of cooking that seeks to find pleasure. In principle, the differences of the two are laid between practical skills in cooking and the artistic way of cooking. In actual, on the other hand, the two principles cannot be identified. It has remained in vague for years. This was further increased by home cooks who are now better equipped, well informed, and well supplied than they were in the past. But whatever type cooking maybe, anyone will always feel the joy of cooking.

When fire was discovered, cooking began to fill the he00001208arts of man. The change in flavor and texture once food was exposed to fire changed and it changed in an even better way, sparking man's interest. Man either cooked the food directly over the fire or chose to wrap and steam his food over hot embers.

When pottery came into the picture, man was brought to heaven. Man started to discover how you can alter the taste and texture of certain foods when exposed to different cooking mechanism. The great taste, the rich flavor, and the amazing texture strengthened man's joy of cooking and making it into a profession.

The culinary arts has identified two types of cooking and five forms of cooking food with the use of heat. All these were studied for the love of cooking and for the goal of improving and perfecting the art.

Everybody loves to eat food, however, cooking it in different ways made eating food a much more memorable experience. It is this appreciation that man needs to feel in order to understand the joy of cooking.

Budget Cooking Ideas For People Who Love Food

Saving money is certainly a newsworthy topic these days. Everyone's looking for places to trim their budget - welcome to the age of budget cooking! For some, it is a desire for simpler life; others have had to make changes due to economic hardship. Whatever the reason, there is no doubt that frugal cooking is a top culinary trend right now. So - how can a dedicated "foodie" make the most of this seeming dark ages of cooking? Actually - it's very easy to enjoy food and saving money when you learn how to cook. I'm not talking about recipes; I'm talking about learning the basic cooking methods that really teach you to cook. Once you learn some simple techniques, budget cooking is natural, fun and delicious!

Buy in Bulk

If you know how to prepare meat (chicken, beef, pork) quickly and efficiently, it makes sense to buy your favorite meats in larger quantities when they are on sale. Trim and prepare the meat, portioning it into serving sizes. Label and date each package and put each portion into the freezer. Now, when you are ready to prepare dinner some night, just take out a portion and prepare it using your favorite cooking method with your favorite ingredients. This budget cooking tip actually saves time AND money!

Celebrate at Home

Going out to a restaurant to celebrate a special occasion is always a treat, but it does have its drawbacks. For starters - if you want to enjoy a bottle of wine, expect to pay somewhere around 2 1/2 times as much as you would buying the same bottle at a store (and that's before tip!) But... when you know how to apply basic cooking methods to great ingredients - you can create very high caliber meals right at home. And you can do this quickly, easily... and cheaply! This can also justify using the highest quality ingredients you can find and afford. You'll still be saving money by toasting your occasion... at home.

Take the Whole Tenderloin - not just the filet

One of the nicest steaks you can prepare - especially on the outdoor BBQ grill - is the filet mignon. But even at the grocery store, this premium cut of beef comes at a premium price. So - I've got some great news for you! One of my favorite "chef secrets" is that breaking down an entire filet is actually much easier than most people think. I made a cooking video that discusses purchasing an entire tenderloin (at a much better price than just the filet) and learning how to prepare it yourself. This is still one of my best money saving tips!

The not so Obvious

It might seem obvious, but the best way to save money on your food bill is to eat less, right? Well, the actual truth of the matter is that most of what is cooked is not eaten and goes to waste. A great way to save money is actually to make less - not necessarily eat less. Portioning is a secret of basic cooking method and a great way to save money. This is because most home cooks over-produce food rather than run the risk of running out of food, which everyone hates to do. However, if you portion correctly on the preparation side, you will save money and have another added bonus: proper portioning also ensures you will not have to even worry about leftovers. So you've solved another common budget cooking dilemma - what to do with leftovers? There won't be any!

Once you've mastered a few basic cooking methods and simple techniques for preparing great food, you'll find it to be a very simple and rewarding way to incorporate budget cooking into your frugal lifestyle.

Healthy Cooking Tips For Your Home Cooking

Eating healthy is not just picking the right kind of food but also cooking them the right way. Food preparation is also important and contributes to how healthy is our diet. We often stay away from fast food and do home cooking instead, but in doing this, take time also to make sure that you get the most of your healthy food choice.

If you have been watching your diet and counting all those calories to reduce, here are some healthy cooking tips I could share that I have been doing as well.

* Choose organic. As much as possible, go for organic food, fruits and vegetables. They are not just free from pesticide residues but also contain more antioxidants than the non-organically grown ones.

*Choose your cooking oil. Olive oil or canola oil can be healthy choices, and make sure you drain excess oil in fried foods by draining it or using paper towels.

* Choose a healthy method of preparation. You can actually choose to prepare your food without draining it with its nutrients. Broiling, grilling, braising and steaming can r00000821etain the nutrients of the food. You can steam vegetables instead of boiling them to preserve its nutrients. Using non-stick pan is not just for convenience in cooking. It is also a good way to reduce the fat added to your food.

* Get rid or replace those high-fat, high-calorie ingredients. In some recipes, you can actually get rid of optional ingredients that contribute to the higher calorie content of the food. For instance, you can choose to omit frosting or you can use yogurt instead of ice cream for your desserts.

* Cook meat to its proper temperatures. This will kill harmful bacteria in the food that cause diseases. Suggested temperatures for steaks and roasts is at least 45F, ground meat at 160F and poultry at 165F. Bacteria that may be spread in grinding meat can bring higher risk of food-borne diseases. You can also reheat leftovers at 165F, and wait for the sauces and gravy to a boil if you are reheating them.

* Adding and including more fruits, vegetables and whole grains in your recipes is one of the healthy cooking tips you can never go wrong if you want to have healthy diet. Fruits are the better choices for healthy desserts. It always helps to include vegetables in your every recipe. If you don't like them whole and in big pieces, you can actually shred or chop them finely that you won't be able to notice them and put them together in your stew or soup.

* Reduce salt in your food. High sodium intake has been linked to higher risk of high blood pressure and risk of heart attack. If you are staying away from the salt-overloaded restaurant food, you can also try to reduce sodium intake by reducing salt in your home recipes. You can cut on salt and add more spices to add flavor to your recipes.

Good choice of food and starting with these healthy cooking tips and techniques, you can indeed make a difference in your diet and your health.

Cooking Fish The Easy Way

Americans tend to eat twice as many fish dinners at restaurants as they do at home largely because they are unsure how to properly prepare fish. Here are some easy and common sense tips about cooking fish at home.

Fish should be purchased either frozen or very fresh at the market. Since fish is delicate, fresh fish should not be refrigerated for more than one or two days. Frozen fish should be well thawed before it is cooked and both frozen and fresh fish should be well dried before cooking.

One of the most popular methods of cooking fish is to pan fry it in a shallow amount of oil. White fish should be coated before it is pan fried in order to protect the delicate flesh from the heat. A coating of seasoned white or wholemeal flour or a mixture of flour, beaten egg and fine bread crumbs is sufficient.

Olive oil or a combination of oil and butter will give the fish a tasty crispness. The oil should be shallow, about 1/8 inch, and should be preheated in a cast iron or heavy skillet over medium heat to about 365 degrees F. This is hot enough to make a small cube of bread sizzle loudly and brown up in about 45 seconds. Place a few pieces of coated fish into the skillet without crowding and cook them for about 2 to 3 minutes on each side. Thicker pieces should cook for 5 to 6 minutes on the first side and for about 4 minutes on the other side.

Avoid overcooking the fish because overcooking will cause it to taste dry and tough. White fish will change from a translucent color to an opaque color when cooked and will begin to flake when it is done. Fish that flakes too easily is an indication that it may be dry and overcooked.

Grilling is a great way to cook sturdier fish such as grouper, salmon, tuna, and swordfish. Just be sure that the grill is preheated and is cleaned and lightly oiled so that the fish will not stick to it. The sturdier fish may be cooked with a light coating or without any coating. More delicate fillets should be coated and grilled in a grill basket or grilled on a heavy duty sheet of foil.

One of the easiest ways to cook fish is to bake it. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F and place the seasoned, coated fish onto a lightly oiled baking sheet or shallow baking pan. Bake the fish for about 10 minutes per inch of thickness. As with pan frying, the white fish is properly cooked when its color turns opaque and it begi00003295ns to flake when a fork is inserted into the center.

Oven broiling is another great way to produce delicious cooked fish. Season and coat the fish well ahead of time. Preheat the broiler and place the fish 5 to 6 inches beneath the broiler. Watch the fish carefully to avoid overcooking. Thicker fillets should be turned halfway through cooking.

The microwave oven can be used to cook a delicious fish dish. Use your favorite recipe for coating and seasoning and try to make the fillets even thickness for best results. Thinner sections of the fish can be folded under each other to help make the fillet an even thickness. Rotate the fish halfway through the cooking time if the microwave oven does not have a turntable. Let the fish stand for a few minutes to finish cooking. Use the color and flake tests to check if fully cooked.

Lastly, fish can be steamed or poached with excellent results. To steam the fish, place it in a metal or bamboo steamer. Place the steamer into a saucepan that has water or stock that has been seasoned with lemon, ginger, or any seasonings from your favorite recipe. It is important that the liquid reaches a simmering temperature but not a boiling temperature. Similarly, the fish can be poached by lowering it into a liquid that is simmering but not boiling. A boiling liquid will cook the fish too quickly and cause the outside of the fish to overcook. The poaching liquid can contain any aromatic herb or vegetable that you enjoy. Cooking times are only a few minutes and depend on the thickness of the fish. As always, test the fish if fully cooked with the color and flake tests.

These easy and common sense tips should give confidence to the preparation of fish dinners at home. Fish is a delicious source of protein and should be included regularly in a healthy diet.

Traveling? Don't Bring Home Unwanted Souvenirs

It's been many years since bed bugs have been a problem in the U.S. The old pesticides that are no longer approved for use wiped out the problem for many years, and bed bugs were insects that only pre WWII generations might have had much experience with. For others, the closest experience with them may have been in sayings such as "Sleep tight. Don't let the bedbugs bite".

With the increase of international travel and the reduction in the potency of legal pesticides, the occurrence of bed bugs in our country is on the rise. Learn how to recognize and prevent bringing these pests home with you from your travels.

What Are Bed Bugs?

The common bed bug is a wingless reddish-brown, six- legged insect approximately " in length. Its oval, flat shape allows it to hide in mattresses, box springs, sofas, and many other tight spots where they can have close access to humans. If a light is turned on, they scurry off to hiding.

Bed bugs feed on human blood and can travel on anything to a new location and hide almost anywhere. They become active and feed at night by biting and injecting an anesthetic agent to numb the area as they suck blood. The bites cause the skin to itch and swell on some people. Others don't have a reaction.

The Bad News

Bed bugs are extremely difficult and expensive to get rid of once a place has them. It requires specialized equipment to eradicate them, and it is a very time consuming job. They can hide many places in a room and can live for up to a year without a blood feast. Once infested, a room has to be thoroughly treated from top to bottom, a very labor intensive, expensive job.

Detection of Bed Bugs

The best way to avoid bed bugs is to detect them before you unpack and spend the night in a new location. Check the mattress, including the seams, for blackish fecal stains that indicate bed bug activity. Look in sofa cushions and on the walls or carpet seams for the same signs.

If you think you have stayed in a place with bed bugs, be careful with your belongings. You might want to unload your suitcases outside of your home and wash all the clothing in hot water and dry at high heat before putting it away.

It is much easier to prevent infesting your home with bed bugs than it is to get rid of them once you have them. Please take the precaution of checking places away from home where you might spend time sleeping or lounging to make sure you don't end up with something you are sure to NOT want.

HDTV Antenna

An Hdtv antenna is the ticket to receive free Hdtv reception over the air. If you've decided to buy a Hdtv there is a low cost alternative to paying cable or satellite providers monthly for Hdtv broadcasts, a simple Hdtv antenna hookup is all that is required. You can receive crystal clear high definition local and network broadcasts. All you need is a ATSC tuner built in your new Hdtv or a external Hd tuner connected to your Hdtv to start getting free Hdtv over the air. If you presently own a good VHF/UHF antenna for indoors or out doors you may be able to use it. Digital tv uses the same antenna as analog tv, manufacturers have just labeled them HD to take advantage of the Hdtv buzz.

Your choices are a indoor Hdtv antenna and a outdoor Hdtv antenna. Some are amplified to increase signal quality and pickup further stations. There are different factors that will determine what Hdtv is best for you. The proximity of your house to a broadcast tower is the biggest one.

The closer you live to a broadcast tower the stronger a signal and better reception you will recieve. Those that live in an urban area or are surrounded by high buildings may get interference with the Hdtv broadcasts. If where you live prohibits you from installing an outdoor antenna there are still viable alternatives available.

Once it is decided which type of antenna will best suit your needs to receive free hdtv you may want to test it. Not in the store but in your home to see which Hdtv antenna provides the best signal. Turn the antenna in different directions to see where the best reception is. Why settle for poor reception when you can get crystal clear free Hdtv reception with just a little tweaking of your antenna?

You may have to get a indoor antenna if you can not install a antenna outdoors. These are usually optimized and powerful to receive signals indoors and there are a wide variety, 00000AF3some amplified (increase the strength of the signal) to fit your living conditions. There are Hdtv antenna's as low as $40.00 such as the Zenith ZHDTV1 Digital Indoor antenna and many others, that can provide great Hd reception indoors in most cases.

You will find a few Hdtv antenna designs to allow outdoor reception without you having to get on the roof. One is the Terk HD-TVS slim profile Hd tv antenna that you can install on a balcony, railing, outdoor wall, in the attic or on the roof and still receive great Hdtv pictures, even in the city.

Optimal reception will be received if you can remove all or as much interference as possible from the transmitter and your Hdtv antenna. This is the reason for the popularity of the outdoor antenna. The outdoor Hd tv antenna that is most popular is the medium directional antenna, because it's not too large and has characteristics that prevent or reduce interference. There are also large and small Hdtv antenna's that may fit your needs.

If you've sworn off paying for cable and satellite subscriptions and want crystal clear HDTV all you need to do is a little research, then get your Hdtv antenna. One good source for more infomation is the Consumers Electronics Association's, Antenna Web. After you have selected the right Hdtv antenna you can just connect directly to your Hdtv set (with ATSC tuner) or HD tuner and receive free Hdtv.

Get more information at HDTV Reviews on how to receive free Hdtv, selecting the right Hdtv antenna for your home and other Hdtv resources at http://www.hdtv.totalinfoguide.com.

Buying an HDTV - The 5 Basic Steps

Shopping for a new HDTV set can be confusing and intimidating, but if you break the process down into smaller parts, it will start to make sense. The main factors to consider are:

  1. Budget Range
  2. Screen Size
  3. Style (Plasma, LCD, etc.)
  4. Special Uses
  5. Options

Budget Range

First things first. HDTV costs are most closely linked to screen size, but also to display type, picture quality, and brand name. You'll have to read the reviews of individual sets to get all the details, but here is a general idea of what you will get in each price range:

Under $500: 20 inch and smaller LCD, HD-Ready (without tuner) HDTVs. 15 inch integrated tuner HDTVs. You might find some up to 27 inches in certain brands, like ViewSonic and Olevia.

$500 to $1000: 32 inch and smaller LCD, integrated tuner HDTVs, 50 inch and smaller DLP HDTVs.

$1000 to $2000: 46 inch and smaller LCD, 50 inch and smaller Plasma, and 65 inch and smaller DLP HDTVs.

$2000 to $4000: 52 inch and smaller LCD, 60 inch and smaller Plasma, and 75 inch and smaller DLP HDTVs.

Another thing to consider is the substantial discounts you can find on last year's models. HDTV technology is updating all the time, just like computer technology. If you can deal with not having the very latest technology, you can find some amazing deals- 40 percent off, or more, on sets only 18 months old.

Screen Size

Getting the right size HDTV for your viewing space is important. In the old days, the right size TV was the biggest one you could afford, but today many people can afford a TV that is so big it dominates the viewing room, and they are forced to sit so close that imperfections in the screen, or individual pixels, are visible.

Another problem with sitting too close to a widescreen HDTV is that your eyes will be shooting back and forth across the screen, as if you were watching a tennis game from center court. These quick eye movements can make you dizzy and give you a headache.

First, look at the area where you'll be watching TV, and measure the distance from the TV screen to the center of your couch, bean bag, log, or whatever you will sit on. This distance should be 2 to 4 times the diagonal measurement of the screen. So, a 24 inch set would be good for viewing from 4-8 feet, a 50 inch set would be good for a range of 8 to 16 feet, and a 60 inch set would work well from 10 to 20 feet away.

Display Style

The most popular types of flat screen HDTV these days are LCD, plasma and DLP. Cathode-Ray TVs are still around, and they usually have a great picture, but the larger CRTs are extremely heavy and bulky. They are slowly losing out to the flatter-profile technology.

LCD stands for Liquid Crystal Display, and is the same type of screen used in most new computer monitors (you are likely looking at an LCD right now), cell phones, and many other devices. LCDs work the best when you want a medium or small set, need a lighter-weight set, or watch TV in a well-lit room.

Plasma sets have a glass screen (as opposed to LCD's plastic) with an ionized gas sandwiched behind it that creates a picture when it is excited by electric charges. Plasmas have a slight edge over LCD in picture quality, especially when viewed from an angle, but may have more screen glare in bright light.

DLP stands for Digital Light Processing. These sets use tiny oscillating mirrors behind the screen to create a picture. DLP sets are technically rear-projection TVs, but are usually quite flat. They are cheaper than LCD and Plasma in the large sizes but are often a little too heavy and thick to hang on a wall.

Special Uses

What do you plan to do with your HDTV? Are you a gamer, a sports fan, or a movie buff? Different types of sets are ideal for slightly different things.

DLP TVs often have very bright displays, but can lose detail in very dark scenes. This makes them great for watching sports, news, and outdoor scenes, but not as good for movies with lots of dark images. Plasma TVs have a great picture, and still look great when viewed from a wide angle- no darkening or color shift. However, a room with lots of windows may create glare problems on the Plasma's glass screen. LCD TVs are much brighter in bright light, so they are well suited for daytime viewing in lighted rooms. In a brightly lit room, an LCD TV can actually look better than a good plasma TV. And LCDs have better, sharper resolution in the mid sizes, so they are ideal to use as an extra monitor for your computer.

Options

All HDTVs come with a slightly different package of features. A tuner is necessary to receive over-the-air broadcasts. Since they add expense, and many people only use their HDTVs for watching cable, satellite, DVD, video game or computer input, they are not always included. Look for an integrated ATSC tuner, or buy an external tuner to get over-the-air broadcasts.

Good speakers are nice to have incorporated into the HDTV. But, if sound quality is really important to you, you'll be better off with high quality external speakers.

Connections are important. You'll want at least 2 HDMI inputs to hook up to a cable box, DVR, or DVD player. Other types of connections, like component and S-Video cable inputs, are handy in case you want to use external components that use these cables. And if you intend to use your HDTV with your digital camera, you will need a USB or memory card input.

Getting Help

Using an online HDTV buyer's guide can help, too. Find one that balances sufficient attention to detail with a big-picture view.

RV Satellite Antenna

The first thing that you should know about RV satellite antennas is that there are three types: satellite radio antennas, satellite cable television antennas and satellite internet antennas. These antennas also come in portable models and affixed models, as well as regular and low profile models. You will want to select the RV satellite antenna that is right for your communication and entertainment needs.

The type of RV satellite antenna that you have, your service carrier and the type of satellite signal you are trying to pick up are all going to impact where you will be able to pick up a signal. Most satellite services will be accessible in the continental U.S., however, if you live in Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, Puerto Rico, Mexico or the Caribbean, then you may find that satellite cable, radio and internet services may be limited. However, recent updates in satellite technology make some satellite services available to anyone who has a clear view of the southern skies.

One of the satellite systems that you can select for your RV is the EchoStar Satellite Network. This network is what operates the Dish Network. It currently uses 14 different satellites with orbits ranging from 61 degrees West to 148 degrees West. This satellite network uses both Ku Band and Ka Band links, however, the Band that your satellite dish accesses will vary depending on what satellite your service is linked to and what cable satellite package you select. Your satellite dish model will also impact which satellite you will use to link to programming.

There are dozens of satellite dish antennas that you can buy. However, your choices are going to be limited to what antennas are designed to pick up the signals transmitted by your service provider. For example you will need a MotoSat portable antenna if you want to receive MotoSat mobile internet service while on the go, you will need a Sirium Micro Dot Low Profile Antenna or Sirius Magnetic Car antenna to pick up Sirius radio signals, or you will need a Winegard or King Dome satellite to pick up satellite TV signals.

When you are on the road you can feel detached from your family, friends and business. Fortunately you now have access to satellite internet and radio service. All you need to get connected is a service provider, a modem and a truck satellite antenna. Stay connected to the media sources of your choice with RV satellite antennas. Choose from satellite radio, satellite cable and satellite internet antennas. Understand your broadband internet satellite dish by learning about its components.

IPod Buyer's Guide

Apple's iPod line-up is comparatively simple compared to what other companies offer. But it still makes sense to see what each particular model can offer so you can make a well-informed decision.

The iPod Shuffle is the smallest iPod available. It forgoes the display and it's small enough to clip onto a shirt. If all you want to do is listen to music and you don't care about what particular song is playing, then this is the iPod for you.

You can get one in either 1GB or 2GB storage capacities. Each model can hold 240 or 500 songs respectively. Randomness is a key factor in all of this. If you like small form factors and a certain degree of uncertainty in the songs that play, then the Shuffle will suit you fine.

The iPod Nano melds a small form factor with the power of a full-featured media player. Even with its small size, you get a nice high-pixel wide screen display that can display pictures and video.

The user interface is just as advanced as a full-sized iPod and makes shuffling through your media an easy process. If you want a more interactive iPod with a decent amount of space (8 and 16GB), this is the one to get. Also thanks to the accelerometer, it can offer some of the new controls found in the iPod touch.

Like a trip back in time, we have the iPod classic. With 120GB in storage, it's the highest capacity iPod in Apple's current line-up. If the idea of carrying your entire music library with you at all times is extremely important to you, then you should put this one at the top of your list.

This device is also capable of playing back video so having over a hundred gigs of space is a feature to have. It's the bulkiest iPod currently available but considering its immense storage and excellent battery life, it's something that most people are willing to overlook.

And finally, we get to the iPod Touch. It's the most advanced iPod. It contains a good amount of solid state storage (8 to 32GB) and a wealth of technological doodads. The glass touch screen is gorgeous and makes navigation even more intuitive when compared to the other iPods.

This is just not a iPod with a fancy touch screen, it's an emerging mobile platform. With excellent third party support there are wealth of applications that are available for this device. Suddenly this iPod is turning into more of a PDA.

In terms of connectivity, you get excellent Wi-Fi access. You also happen to get the finest mobile web browser available. The previously mentioned third party apps are able to bring new levels of online activity to this platform.

Do you sacrifice storage with the Touch but I think the overwhelming advancement in technology more than makes up for this difference.

With all that said, you just have to match your listening/viewing habits with the iPod whose feature set best matches those habits. Each model has something to bring to the table. Use of this guide will hopefully put you on the right track.

Samsung LCD TV - The Two-Fold Uses

Samsung LCD TVs have no burn-ins unlike plasma televisions, which, when used for quite a while has an image imprinted on the screen. With this in consideration, you can use your LCD TV and connect it to your PC or play video games with it minus the worry of burn-ins.

If you want to use your LCD television as a computer screen, better buy an LCD monitor. Otherwise, you will be paying for many other things like a tuner, audio-visual inputs, and other things that you do not actually need. Now if you are a video game fanatic, having a 30-inch screen for your gaming purposes is something that is definitely worth showing off.

First of all, make sure that you have the right kind of television to use as a monitor. The next thing that you should check is if your LCD TV has a VGA option or if it supports connection to a computer or gaming console. If there is none, that can be very frustrating.

Your computer must be near your television for easy access. Just imagine if your LCD TV and your computer far apart. It will really be a hassle and that is not reasonable. So when you say that you plan to use your LCD TV as a computer monitor, place them near each other.

Have the necessary wires on hand to make the switch between LCD TV and computer easier. Set up the wires that are needed for the connection so that when you decide that you want to switch, it will be easier and convenient on your part. You can also set up a device where the change will be a lot easier.
