Unit Test Specifications in Software Testing

Once a unit has been designed, the next development step is to design the unit tests. An important point here is that it is more rigorous to design the tests before the code is written. If the code was written first, it would be too tempting to test the software against what it is observed to do (which is not really testing at all), rather than against what it is specified to do. A unit test specification comprises a sequence of unit test cases. Each unit test case should include four essential elements:

1. A statement of the initial state of the unit, the starting point of the test case (this is only applicable where a unit maintains state between calls);

2.The inputs to the unit, including the value of any external data read by the unit;

3. What the test case actually tests, in terms of the functionality of the unit and the analysis used in the design of the test case (for example, which decisions within the unit are tested);

4. The expected outcome of the test case (the expected outcome of a test case should always be defined in the test specification, prior to test execution).

The following subsections of this paper provide a six step general process for developing a unit test specification as a set of individual unit test cases. For each step of the process, suitable test case design techniques are suggested. (Note that these are only suggestions. Individual circumstances may be better served by other test case design techniques).

Step 1 - Make it Run

The purpose of the first test case in any unit test specification should be to execute the unit under test in the simplest way possible. When the tests are actually executed, knowing that at least the first unit test will execute is a good confidence boost. If it will not execute, then it is preferable to have something as simple as possible as a starting point for debugging.

Suitable techniques:

Specification derived tests

Equivalence partitioning

Step 2 - Positive Testing

Test cases should be designed to show that the unit under test does what it is supposed to do. The test designer should walk through the relevant specifications; each test case should test one or more statements of specification. Where more than one specification is involved, it is best to make the sequence of test cases correspond to the sequence of statements in the primary specification for the unit.

Suitable techniques:

Specification derived tests

Equivalence partitioning

State-transition testing

How To Download Games Onto PSP

The hot thing today is the PSP. If you don't have one, you may not understand why. If you do, you understand the draw of it. The PSP is a piece of equipment that goes far beyond a portable video game.

The games are on a small disk known as a UMD that can be carried around easily. There are also memory sticks that you can use to store games on. So, how do you download games onto your PSP from your computer?

Here is your guide:

When programmers design games specifically for the PSP, they are sometimes referred to as Homebrew Games. Some of these Homebrew Games are made for the PSP game console to mimic games made for other systems so you do not have to have every console made in order to play every game.

For example, a game that was made for Nintendo may be Homebrewed to play with your PSP console so you can have the fun of the Nintendo, but not the expense. This is just one of the many selling points for the PSP because you can download Homebrew PSP games from just about anywhere you look online.

To download a game on to PSP from the Internet, you will need a PSP memory stick with sufficient memory. It is advisable that the stick have at least 1GB of memory to accommodate graphic, sound and any personal settings. However, these cards can get expensive, so if you do not have one or do not have the money to buy one, a 256 MB stick will most likely work. If your stick is brand new, it will have to be formatted before downloading.

An important note: you will need your PSP Firmware version 1.5 or less. If you have a newer PSP you may have to downgrade.

It is quite simple to download games for PSP from the Internet to your PC , then move the files from your computer to the PSP itself. When you hook up the PSP to the PC via a USB cable, the PC will recognize it as a removable memory device. Then the computer will assign a drive; usually the f: drive; and then you can simply drag and drop your PSP game files to the memory stick.

After the games for the PSP are transferred to the memory stick, tell the computer you want to disconnect the PSP. Once the computer gives the 'all clear' you can safely remove the PSP.

The PSP's main menu will have a listing called GAME and press the Memory Stick option. After pressing X, a list is displayed of the games on your memory stick. If there is an error displayed, you might want to check the version of Firmware you are using.

Now that you know how to download games onto PSP ...go out there and give it a shot. This is a technique that has been used to download games onto PSP countless times.

Ryan Edward has scoured the Internet, testing and reviewing 37 different PSP download sites and has officially crowned the winner "King of PSP Downloads" check out his website now to see who won the crown and why http://www.ryanstips.com/psp

The Wii & G-Cube - A Tale of Two Consoles

Offering fresh and innovating gaming consoles, Nintendo is held in lofty regards by gamers the world over. However, since the promotion of the Nintendo Wii, scores of devoted followers have been confused. Wrongly thinking that the Wii and the GameCube to be the same console.

Those "confused" gamers may be right. When the Wii was conceived, only the designing software was enhanced. Which means all Game-cube games can still be used with the Wii operating system as Stated by a chief staff member at Nintendo. The chief staff member continued on implying that all Game-cube game titles are "flexible" so savvy gamers are able to use a Wii-mote while playing a Game-cube game.

This information has been on the net for years now, but fans of the Nintendo wii seem to have forgotten about it. Another retarded story passing around is that the Wii is just a re-packaged Game-cube. Chill, forget about the BS regarding hardware details, and leave that to the software makers.

Both systems are different, enough said. Forget about the inside. If you are having fun playing the games and kicking galactic butt, who cares? Nothing will change the fact that Nintendo Wii is the most up-to-date game console on the market today; it continually outsells consoles made by Microsoft and Sony.

With Nintendo Wii's ground-breaking technology, the competitor's are sunk. When you want a truly unique gaming experience the Wii is the best. The Nintendo Wii has no age boundaries. The Nintendo Wii is the best "get together" & Party gaming console available on the market.

To surmise. The consoles are members of the same class even though they have basic differences. You cannot compare one from the other by design alone. As long as Nintendo Wii can offer quality games that the whole family enjoys, it will remain superior on the market. Get the Nintendo Wii now and if you have GameCube discs, you can also use them with the Wii.

You've read all the reviews, you know the facts. Nintendo wii game console is the #1 system world wide. Wii is extremely fun and years ahead of the competition with virtual game controllers. only problem is they are very hard to get, you can get one right here, right now, just do it.

Art Paintings For Sale

Art is an extension of man's imagination, which can be expressed in various forms such as paintings and sculptures. The type of painting will greatly depend on the way artists perceive the world. Some people purchase paintings of eminent artists to adorn their houses, while many rich private collectors buy them to form a rare collection of paintings. Art paintings are offered for sale in art galleries and exhibitions where unique collections of unknown as well as distinguished artists around the world are kept for display. Many art galleries offer some form of discount to their regular customers.

The easiest way of obtaining the best paintings around the world is the Internet. Many online art galleries offer free delivery around the world, while some may levy shipping and handling charges. Buyers can view larger images of the paintings on the website and then place an order for it. Generally, these art sites sell original paintings with an Originality Certificate as a proof of its authenticity. Several art sites also offer money back guarantee to their buyers.

Many people buy expensive paintings by popular artists to display as status symbols, and to later pass them on to the next generation as invaluable assets. These paintings appreciate over a period of time and can fetch a handsome amount. Some people invest money in promising artists who have the potential to become famous in the future. These paintings can earn them a fortune after the artist gains popularity.

There are buyers who love to own masterpieces but may not have the resources to buy them. Such people can purchase reproduction paintings that can also be a profitable investment. Hand-painted reproductions that are painted by talented artists on canvas can be almost as good as originals.

Art theft is a serious problem and museums have to enforce tight security to protect invaluable paintings. Many buyers get duped by art thieves who sell them fake paintings for the price of an original one. It is imperative for online buyers to purchase art paintings from reliable sources.

How to Profit From 3D Model Creation

A single 3D model can demand thousands of dollars in profit when sold to graphics or design companies. For a 3D model to command such a high price it must be highly accurate and lifelike.

Creating polygonal models has shown to be more profitable than creating other types of 3D models such as b-spline or NURBs 3D models. This being said, many buyers of 3D models take into account that NURBs models can be transitioned into polygonal models, but it is not possible to create a NURB model from a polygonal 3D model.

There are high market values for models that are lifelike - whether they are human models, organ models or models of household items or furniture. These 3D models are necessary within video games and other animations.

These lifelike models can take extensive periods of time to complete and therefore it is important to focus on specific aspects of the model. For example, when making a model of a popular vehicle, create the exterior of the vehicle first, but overlook parts of the vehicle that are not going to be required - such as the engine, or trunk.

In order for the artist to reach high earnings levels they must have an eye for detail and the know how, and skill to create these highly specialized 3D models. Detail and versatility are the keys to selling designs in the 3D model business. When companies purchase models for thousands of dollars, they expect the models to transition into different formats with ease. Creating models that can transition easily yields more income than a static 3D model.

For these reasons, details such as texture should be avoided as many companies employ individuals that can add on this texture. As well, when an artist adds texture to a 3D Model it can make the model hard to transition into other forms.

How Do I Sound Proof My Home Cinema?

Sound proofing a room can be very important in a home cinema, the whole experience can be spoiled by external noise intruding in the room - imagine the washing machine spinning away when you are trying to enjoy a quiet moment. The benefits of sound proofing also apply to sealing the room off from the rest of the house and the neighbours - you'll soon become unpopular if non-movie fans are made to endure loud explosions or music tracks!

How does Sound travel?

Sound waves travel in any direction and can be transmitted by the fabric of the house. These paths can be through floor joists and a high end subwoofer system can even vibrate a concrete floor slab! Low bass channels can be particularly troublesome - escaping through small gaps in the ceiling and walls. Not only does this escaping noise irritate other parties it stands to reason it is reducing the overall effect of the home cinema.

How can it be Controlled?

There are several ways to control sound as it travels through the air. Walls and ceilings break up sound and plasterboard will stop a certain amount of noise leakage, particularly high end frequencies. To really control the sound a void needs to be created between one wall and another - this stops the easy path through wall joists. This void can then be filled with a variety of media, several companies make products of varying thickness. Open honeycomb panels are one option which are designed to reflect wound waves numerous times until they run out of energy and cease to be a problem. Another option is dense rockwool, which resembles insulation, and is designed to absorb sound waves. The best solution we have found is a pressed poly-vinyl noise barrier made by Acoustiblok which takes up very little room (so no need to sacrifice too much room space), it comes in 3mm and 6mm varieties and is installed between the stud and dry wall. The product is so effective it is more efficient than lining your home with lead sheeting!

Video Games As Isolating Activities

Often people assume that playing computer games or video games is a very anti social activity, and is a solo activity which isolates an individual from the real world, cuts them off from other people and then allows them to sit on their own in a small dark room hitting keys over and over again in order to mindlessly destroy anything that moves on their screen. In fact, nothing could be very much further from the truth, and in fact those people who play computer games on their own, completely cut off from interaction with other people in any way are such a minority group it may prove hard to find anyone to actually put in to it.

Quite apart from not being a solo activity, recent research has found that over 66% of people who play computer or video games do so with their friends, either sat with them advising, or actually with a second handset competing in the same game. 30% of gamers play with their brothers or sisters and a quarter of all gamers play with either their parents or their partners. This completely goes against the argument that most people lay on their own, and shows that the majority of people play as a social game, in various combinations and ways.

Even taking in to account that there may be 20% to 30% of people who do play games without someone else being physically with them, it is still not possible to generalise isolation by suggesting that these people are cut off from any kind of social interaction. Many games these days are what is referred to as multi player, meaning that more than one person can play the game at the same time, and with a very wide number of the most popular video games being online too, this means that all players will be competing against and taking part with other real people, rather than the computer. In fact, many of these online multiplayer games have relatively little input from the computer, and far more input from the people playing the game against each other.

One of the main requirements of many of these multiplayer online games is that people group together and try to work out strategies and tactics to overcome certain obstacles, opponents and challenges. This will require great teamwork, very in depth discussions involving roles and group work, and will require people to work together as individuals and as a team. As a result, many players become part of a more stable and permanent group which means that there are people known to each other ready to take on challenges without having to start all over each time analyzing their strengths and weaknesses. These groups can become social groups, meeting outside of the game, and there are many examples where people who have met through these groups have gone on to develop meaningful friendships and relationships beyond the game.

Video games are most certainly not isolating - for many, they open doors to friendships that the real world may never have offered.

Learn Digital Photography

Have you ever wanted to learn digital photography? Believe it or not, but if you are truly passionate about learning digital photography, then you can do it. There are so many different resources available for anyone who wants to use them. It all depends on you though and what kind of effort you are able to put forth.

You could learn digital photography in a classroom if you wanted to. Nowadays, almost every major college and university offers a major in digital photography (or at least, regular photography). Some smaller schools offer individual courses for people interested in learning digital photography. Even community colleges are offering courses that take place on nights and weekends for the convenience of working adults. There are advantages and drawbacks to learning digital photography in a classroom, but I will just say this: for sheer basics, a classroom will work well enough.

You could learn digital photography by interning with a photography studio. This is a very hands on type of learning process. You may have to work long days, with few or no breaks, and you are rushing to help the real photographers beat deadlines. Now, this is not the same as a portrait studio that you see set up in malls around America that take pictures of your kids for grandma. You need to take an apprenticeship with a real studio that goes out and shoots for newspapers, magazines, calendars, or private collectors. This is a more common route for teenagers who want to learn digital photography, but adults can do it too of course. Also, remember that not every studio is willing to hire an intern, so you may have to shop around town before you find a place.

A final way you could try to learn digital photography is by buying a handbook on digital photography. Handbooks are useful for people who prefer to work at their own pace or dont have time for a course at a learning annex or an internship. There are hundreds of different books you have to choose from, so be sure to choose the one that is right for you. For example, if you want to learn digital photography so that you can take pictures of the daisies in your front lawn, then buy a book on outdoor photography.

Anybody who really wants to learn digital photography can do so with just a little bit of grit and determination. Good luck out there!

Benefits of Website Design with Director 8.5

The software program of Director 8.5 has proven itself to be a very useful tool when it comes to designing WebPages. Many people would argue that interactive multimedia is distractive and does not allow the reader the opportunity to absorb the content on the website. However, in the contemporary society of marketing and capitalism, it is believed that the Internet has become an environment where websites are frequently competing for the viewers attention. Hence, if a website builder can use the program Director 8.5 to his or her advantage in terms of advertising; this will prove to be beneficial in gaining the audiences attention whilst marketing your product.

Reasons why designing your website with Director 8.5 is beneficial:

1. Director 8.5 gives the webpage builder the opportunity to incorporate flash animation into their website as well as having control over the length of the flash animation.

2. Director 8.5 combined with flash animation has the ability to provide audience interaction and also can ensure that the information that is read by the viewers is absorbed. For example, viewers who are able to take online quizzes or interact with characters or buttons on the website have a greater concentration span and memory limit than someone who is just endlessly sitting in front of the computer screen reading articles and having no interaction.

3. The software program of Director 8.5 allows the webpage builder to have a lot of control over the texture of the website. There are features that are installed in this software design program that even allow the designer to have control over whether the background color should be 100% in texture, or a faded background with the background color only 50% in texture.

4. 3D animation is also possible with Director 8.5. This software program allows the designer to make or incorporate 3D animation so that the characters on your websites seem to be more realistic and entertaining to the audience.

5. 3D buttons and texts are also possible with Director 8.5. The designer can use Director 8.5 to their advantage by placing links in the website, so where a 3D button or text is clicked on, another webpage or link is activated. This software can also be used for online quizzes and interactive games and videos.

Finally, although Director 8.5 is a very sophisticated software program, there are many tutorials that are available on websites to assist the designer. For more information, check out websites such as: www.fbe.unsw.edu.au/learning/director/8.5/ where simple instructions will enable you to design more complex animation later once you have mastered the skill!

Gaming Consoles

Gaming consoles have evolved into a set of complex devices and are as innovative and exciting as imagination can make them. These hand held devices are really a rage with the children of today. They are marketed cleverly as stress busters and increasingly even adults have been bitten by the bug. Both children and adults find them addictive and hard to resist. Some people claim that digital gaming is intellectually stimulating than merely entertaining. Whatever is the justification, game consoles are getting to be more and more complex and composite in order to cater to the tastes of both children and adults.

Most of these devices have the ability to support PAL format and most importantly the online compatibility. One can play these games with friends across the globe if one wished to! The graphical images have a high resolution with a colour compatibility of 17 million. While some consoles have a single screen there are others with two screens, one is used for picture display while the other is used for touch sensitive control. The online gaming devices can also be operated by Wi-Fi connection. In addition to the Wi-Fi connection the wireless controller can allow the user free movement.

There are numerous brands and each brand offers a wide range of games. The games may be categorized as sports games, simulation games, racing games, role play games, plat former games, adventure games and fighting games. There are numerous games to select in each of these categories.

Many of these games need accessories to supplement the game. For example, in order to use voice commands or chat online with the other players, the headset is necessary. The AC Adaptor can be used to recharge the battery. A stylus is useful to manipulate the touch screen and so protect it from damage. There is a gaming case to protect it from being damaged. Some Game Consoles also have add ons like the MP3 player and camera. These sleek machines are available in attractive eye catching colours and the accessories are generally designed to match the gaming device.

Some racing games require steering wheels while the fighting games require boxing gloves and they have special controls embedded into them to make them simulate punching. These gaming consoles also use the latest technology like the Dolby and DTS to provide the best sound effects for the enhancement of the game and to ensure real time game play.

Thigh High Boots With Stiletto, Platform & Wedge Heels

Stiletto Heel

Thigh High Boots are the sexiest footwear that any glam crazy women will want to wear. So it goes without saying that stilettos are the best combination for this footwear. Stiletto is a symbol of feminine power. Wearing boots with stilettos not only gives a walking-on-the-air feel, but also gives a seductive structure to your body by making unnatural curves.

But remember, if you are choosing stilettos, you should be either an expert in walking stilettos or you are risking some bones on your feet to get practiced walking in them. If you are not any one these two, then stiletto is not for you. Also if your foot is flat, it will be very painful to wear stilettos. The better option for this is to go for a platform boot with little toe-to-heel height difference.

Platform Heel

If you are a little short, then wearing a thigh high boot won't look too good for you without a raised platform. These boots increases your height apparently and will give you the most desired appearance. Unlike stilettos they don't cost much on your foot health yet give you a glam appeal. Some boots have a stiletto and a platform, the former for the heel part of the boot and the latter for the toe part. Imagine wearing an 8 inch stiletto without a platform to support your toes. Really unimaginable! This footwear makes your dream of standing on an eight inch heel an absolute reality, by providing your toes a good support.

Wedge Heel

Not many thigh high boots come with wedges, but they definitely look good. Wedges have a cosmopolitan look and are a great addition to your thigh boots that gives a cozy appeal to your outfit. The smooth descending of the height from heel to toe adds beauty to your walk. Like platform, wedges don't cost your foot health for a sexy appeal. Wedges can be pretty well worn without much strain on your legs. Sheepskin leather boots with wedge heel are very soft and a sure-fire choice that gives your feet a beautiful appearance.

The Future of 3D Printing

Firstly lets clarify what is meant by 3D printing, well in a nut shell it is a way of fabricating objects designed on computer, for example if you designed a mug using computer aided design, within a few hours you could have the real thing sitting in front of you. It is possible to watch your very creations come to life in true Star Trek fashion, before your very eyes.

To go into more detail, currently printers are fairly slow, limited and not tremendously precise. A home 3D printer will typically set up back about ten thousand pounds, but this is cheap considering the first commercially available printers cost at least ten times that amount. 3D printers presently are capable of fabricating objects using silicon and certain types of metal, other substances that have been tested are plaster, play-doh and even chocolate!

A home 3D printer is about the size of a Microwave and connects directly to a desktop computer running software that controls its operation. It then creates objects layer-by-layer by squeezing material from a mechanically-controlled syringe. Unfortunately printers are somewhat limited in the sense they still produce a fairly rough end product and the time scale it takes to print an object is considerable.

Despite all the technical implications, there are huge possibilities for the future of 3D printing. All ground breaking technology starts somewhere, for example in the case of the PC, mainframes had existed for years, but personal computing only took off in the late seventies. A cheap self-assembly computer called the Altair 8800, launched in 1975, sparked the rapid development of personal computing. In similar circumstances self assembly 3D printers hope to spark the same rapid development in rapid prototyping.

There are a number of different 3D printers available on the market today, all with slightly different advantages, disadvantages, quirks and features. Some interesting projects include an open source 3D printer which has successfully been used to fabricate better parts to replace existing parts on the printer itself. The ultimate goal of 3d printers is to perfectly replicate themselves, allowing much more cost effective manufacturing.

The future for 3D printing seems very promising, it is the fastest growing part of the rapid-prototyping industry with revenues this year expected to be approximately a billion US dollars. Many industries are showing huge amounts of interest and are seem great potential in different applications where they could utilize three dimensional printing. The US army have experimented using rapid prototyping to create parts for broken tanks, guns and other hardware in combat situations. Businesses believe a rapid prototyping machine could prove invaluable in showing factories how to assemble parts remotely, for example in China. Even NASA has requested a high resolution machine to manufacture crucial parts in space.

In conclusion what is stopping you being part of a truly revolutionary technology, which could become one of the major breakthroughs of the twenty first century? 3D printing has merely been science fiction until recently, where it is now most certainly science fact. What can we expect to see in the not so far away future? Well one ultimate goal is printable organic parts, for example replacement organs, identical skin grafts and even limbs, to combat victims of illness, disease and war.

Beach Stock Photos - Earn Money Selling Them

Did you know that you could sell photos of the beach? Many people want these photos and will pay for them. Beach stock photos are not difficult to take at all. The beach is one of those places where nearly anybody with a somewhat good eye can take great pictures at. If you have a somewhat good eye you can reap the profits of selling your photos online.

To sell your photos simply submit them to various stock photo agencies. These agencies will pay you every time your photo is downloaded. You can sign up to be a photographer for free and start uploading your photos right away. There are some guidelines and regulations so be sure to check those out.

When taking beach photos you can take the usual beach photos that everyone else takes. This will make for very competitive images that everyone else has. You will have to do better than average to be highly successful. Rather than take the usual beach photos of the sand and the water with a sunset try some different variations.

Try building a stock photo collection of beach photos. Fill in the gaps that are missing with beach photos on the stock agencies. For example, do the stock photo agencies have a good supply with children in the sand? How about sand castles? Or how about people playing volleyball at the beach? What about a picnic at the beach?

Fill in these gaps and you will have no competition and whenever someone wants the photo of sand castles they'll have no choice but to get your image.

Selling your photos of the beach can be very rewarding. Don't expect to get rich right away. It'll take time. The more quality and quantity photos you have the more you can make.

3D Poker Looks to be the Future of Online Poker Games

Online Poker has been a huge hit over the past several years, and it looks to be that way for time to come. Some of the major Online Poker Rooms have updated their software regularly to improve the game play, but there is only so much you can improve on when dealing with a traditional poker room software.

The latest in Online Poker seems to be 3D Poker, which is growing at a very rapid rate. The best way to describe playing at a 3D Poker is that it's similar to that of an advanced poker video game that you will find on game systems such as a PS3 or an Xbox 360. The main difference with playing 3D Poker on the Internet is that you have the ability to play for real money rather than just for fun.

3D Poker is still far from becoming the standard version of Online Poker, so whether it actually happens or not seems to a ways a way. However, with rate that technology improves, it doesn't seem very unlikely that it could happen in the coming years.

3D Poker offers features and experiences that traditional Online Poker Rooms can't even come close to. For example, at one of the highest rated 3D Poker Rooms, players have the ability to make their own unique character and even send a photo of themselves to the room to make the face of that character look like the photo. While playing, players can make different expressions or emotions to help keep the table exciting and even try to throw off an opponent's potential read.

There are still a couple downfalls to 3D Poker that will likely change as technology improves. The biggest downfall is 3D Poker takes a much faster computer to run the software than the traditional online poker rooms. Another downfall, that some players may or may not care about, is that players won't be able to see as many hands per hour since the actual game play is slightly slower than that of a traditional poker room.

There is one major 3D Poker Room that sticks out above the rest, and that is PKR. They first launched in 2006 and have been improving their software on a regular basis. PKR pretty much offers the best in everything when compared to other 3D rooms. They are even one of the fastest growing online poker rooms on the market today, which is quite the feat considering they are a fairly young room.

Whether someone is interested in 3D Poker or not usually depends on their intent. If a player is looking to play multiple tables at once to see as many hands per hour, then 3D Poker probably is not the best option for them. If someone if looking to add a little excitement to their play, customize their very own unique table character, and even make table expressions like that of real life play, then 3D Poker is probably something that would interest them.

A Simple Guide To Digital Camera Buying

I'm a firm believer in the power of choice. Choice in cars, choice in cable providers, choice in which movies I watch, and choice in how I live my life. Freedom of choice is in our constitution and charter of rights. I'm also a firm believer in keeping things simple, and there is such a thing as too much choice. Take digital cameras for instance. As of today, Amazon has 3,859 digital cameras (and accessories) listed ranging in price from $24,995.00 all the way down to $40.99. That's not choice, that's a frackin' nightmare!

Well, were do we go from here? I did promise a SIMPLE guide to digital camera buying, and I meant it. Let's apply the 90% rule from one of my favorite old science fiction writers Theodore Sturgeon. Theo said (and I loosely quote): "90% of everything is crap". With that in mind, let's eliminate all the crap. Let's only look at the top cameras from whatever category / budget were interested in. In other words, as your reading any camera reviews, don't bother with a camera if it doesn't receive at least a 4 or a 5 star review.

Next, draw up a short list of the most important features for you. Here's a few to choose from :

- megapixels (at least 5 or 6)

- image sensor size (bigger is better . . . not megapixels, that's different . . . if the salesperson can't answer this, find another salesperson)

- zoom lens (anything more than 12x or 70mm and you'll probably need a SLR)

- LCD screen (at least 2.5 inches and 230,000 pixels)

- image stabilization (great for shaking hands and slow ISO settings)

- face detection / auto focus ( not essential, but could save a few bad pictures)

- battery performance (most cameras give a rating based on number of pictures you can take with one set of batteries)

- flash recharge time (slow recharge times can result in missed pictures)

- size (choose from ultra compact, compact, or extra case need just for lenses)

- SLR or point and shoot ( pros vs amateurs)

- ISO settings (if your into manual tweaking)

- built in camera editing (things like removing red eye)

- macro lens function ( for photographers that like to take pictures of really really tiny things)

- memory cards (some take CF, some take SD, some take both . . . what you already own may help you decide)

Once you have your short list of features, it's time to try a few cameras out. I like to visit the camera store, and take lots of pictures. Go during the off hours, and find a helpful salesperson. Ask question, take pictures, ask more questions. Wash rinse repeat with a couple of cameras, and even a couple of salespersons if necessary. Pretty soon, you'll know what you like.

If that doesn't help, I've got a short list of great cameras gathered from across the internet updated by the minute (aren't computers great). That's bound to eliminate at least 90% of all the crap for you. That's about as simple as things get. Of course you can't trust computers for everything, so you'll still want to try them out for yourself. Happy hunting.

Digital Camera Packages

Would you mind trying your hands at the digital cameras? Then here it is almost everything you got to know about cameras.

These convert your memories into digital form. Let it be videos, photos or sound, anything can be stored for later use. Share it or keep it for yourself it is not going any where. Digital cameras include video cameras, still cameras and professional modular system of cameras. What matters is the memory when we talk of digital cameras. Cheap ones and the mobile phones rely on onboard memory. But nowadays most digital cameras are available with a removable memory card. These can be secure memory cards, XD picture card or memory stick.

The purpose of all these is easy and huge storage. If you are confused between the resolution and the pixels then keep this thing in mind that a huge amount of pixels does not ensure a better picture. If you plan to share your memories on the web or on blog sites then a lower resolution camera is a better option for you. Talking about the memory cards, it is a belief that huge memory enhances the performance of the camera but many times its vise versa is possible. Two types of batteries are available when digital cameras are concerned. You may select cameras with lithium ion batteries or the standard AA batteries.

The cameras can be connected to the computer by the USB port, or through card readers. Nowadays some cameras like Easy share helps to share items with the computer by Bluetooth. Have you ever heard about disposable cameras? These are also known as single use cameras. They have all common features like the regular cameras. There is one drawback; you can not connect it to your computer. These cameras are cheaper than the regular ones.

Photographing Portraits of People - Photography Tips

So you have a great digital camera and you're tired of shooting landscapes and sunsets. Now you want to move onto faces and personalities. Good for you! It's probably the most rewarding subject matter to photograph. And it's my favorite.

To capture a portrait of someone - to truly capture their personality, isn't easy. You need to learn some basic posing techniques and you really need to know your camera. Know your camera so you don't need to be so focused on the technical, but more on the connection between you and your portrait subject.

Now that you've decided to explore portraiture, you need to understand the responsibility of a portrait. Being photographed is a very vulnerable experience. We've all seen horrible pictures of ourselves, and over time it can make some people feel less of themselves and think they are not 'photogenic'. When really they have just likely been poorly photographed.

First things first! Make your subject feel comfortable. Find out something about them, ask them questions. Asking about kids or family almost always puts a subject at ease. When you get them thinking about themselves and your questions, they stop thinking about being nervous. And when someone isn't nervous, you can capture more of their true personality.

I know what you're thinking. Talking and asking questions is easy, but how do I pose them? My advise is to start simple. Just concentrate of their face. Less to shoot is less to worry about, for both of you. Experiment with head tilt or angle of their face. But always keep their movements small and subtle. And try and get your camera at their eye level. Also find a comfortable distance to them. Close enough to connect, but not too close to intimidate them with your equipment.

Once you feel like you have some nice face shots, then try moving a little further away. See more of their body. Try having them fold their arms, or have them lean against a tree or a wall. People need to feel like they have some safety or an anchor.

The important thing to remember, is to have fun and keep the experience simple and unintimidating for your subject. For more simple tips on posing people for portraits visit this informative site!

Always remember that photographing a person is a responsibility. Know your equipment and how to get them most out of it. And learn how to work with your subjects to not only create great portraits, but to also to have a fun experience with the person you are shooting.
